This is Tintin’s first adventure, its 1929 and he makes his entrance in the Le Petit Vingtième. Tintin in the Land of the Soviets finds Tintin on his first journalistic assignment. Commissioned by the newspaper Le Petit Vingtième, he’s sent to report on the claims of utopian ideals in the USSR. Tintin, our intrepid cub reporter, sets off from Bruxelles for Moscow via Berlin by train.
Being a foreign journalist, Tintin gets to reveal the stark realities behind the façade of the communist ‘Paradise.’ Travelling through this unfamiliar country, Tintin discovers the clandestine workings of the secret police. Virtually on every page he escapes the perilous traps set in his path. Tintin in the Land of the Soviets finds Hergé flexing his draughtsman and storytelling skills, but not quite achieving his ultimate goal.
