This gripping story introduces us to a unique Hergé character. We have sort of only had Thompson and Thomson, okay there are some others, up until now. The Crab with the Golden Claws adventure starts at walking pace, discovery of a scrap of paper with a name on it. Which swiftly leads to being aboard the Karaboudjan.
Bursting through a porthole Tintin and Snowy land on Archibald Haddock, Captain! Slumped over a glass of whiskey feeling deeply sorry for himself. He is not what we were expecting who we would later come to love and admire. Unpredictable, hot headed, dangerous and above all things a loyal friend.
As Tintin delves into the dangerous underworld of opium traffickers, his pursuit leads him across continents to North Africa, unravelling a web of deceit and treachery. Along with the stalwart Captain Haddock and Snowy, Tintin confronts the challenges posed by the drug runners.
