This riveting story has us plunging into a web of political intrigue and accusations. Its set in San Theodoros, South America. And it transpires Bianca Castafiore has herself caught up in some sort of terrorist plot.
Its not enough she is under arrest, along with her is Irma, Wagner and the Thompsons. When Captain Haddock and Professor Calculus come to their rescue, they too get put under house arrest. So where is Tintin you ask? He does turn up thank heavens and soon the plot begins to be unravelled.
We have Jolyon Wagg turning up too as well as General Alcazar. And Tintin helps him in a bloodless coup…please note Tintin is now wearing long trousers…why oh why did that have to happen. Tintin and the Picaros goes down as the adventure where long trousers appear and Haddock goes off whiskey!
