Poster Le Petit Vingtième Cover – Amilcar

What a splendid image to have on your wall, taken from the cover of Le Petit Vingtiéme in 1943 from the adventure The Cigars of the Pharaoh. And more over its unique, this image does not appear in any of the editions published since, variations on the image exist but not this one. So there!

Whilst the main element of this adventure is opium, throwing in some diversions here and there Hergé certainly keeps us reading. Such a thrilling stage in the adventure Tintin and Snowy at their best, taking up the challenge to rescue the Maharaja of Gaipajama’s young son. And it takes Hergé till the last page to reveal the trick the opium smugglers were using…so clever …so simple.

This collection of posters captures all the magic of the cover illustrations created by Hergé for the youth supplement of the Belgian newspaper Le Vingtième Siècle.
