The Lincoln Torpedo – “Cigars of the Pharaoh” (1955).  In this majestic convertible we find Tintin driving Professor Sarcophagus and the writer Zlotzky to the asylum in the Lincoln Torpedo Grand Sport (see page 43). Its such a picture of normality this frame, but it hides sheer madness…
This convertible apparently only existed as a project. Indeed, the only trace of this ghost car, created by Jacques Saoutchik, is an advertising drawing from the early thirties that Hergé practically reproduced as is.

In 2008 Moulinsart created a range of diecast model cars 1/43 scale, their collaborator then was Editions Atlas. All seventy of the vehicles were gathered from the adventures of Tintin. Hergé’s evident love of cars, well actually all vehicles, real or imagined, came to life in this product range.

We are launching with the permission of Moulinsart their new collaboration with Hachette a series of diecast model cars 1/24 scale. You will be thrilled by their appearance, they are bigger, yes twice the size, they shine like the sun, and the wheels do go round! And the detail is incredible, nothing is missed from Hergé’s masterful pen strokes.

They come in a clear Perspex case, that has a design on it to highlight the adventure, along with a brochure in French and English.
